Nowcast Inc. ("NC") acknowledges that it is NC’s social responsibility to handle personal information appropriately while providing Nikkei CPI Now ("Service"). NC adheres to the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other relevant laws and regulations in NC’s handling of personal information. Furthermore, NC thoroughly educates and train NC’s staff to make sure personal information is handled correctly. NC also consistently reviews and works to enhance NC’s personal information protection management framework.

1. Collection of Personal Information

NC will collect personal information through lawful and fair methods, only to the extent necessary for the operation of the Service.

2. Use of Personal Information

With the consent of the customer or in cases considered as exceptions by laws and regulations, NC will handle customer personal information within the scope of the following purposes:

Providing the Service and related application acceptance, administrative procedures, and communication with customers.

2)

Offering, introducing and managing NC’s products and services.

3)

Conducting surveys and research for marketing and product development purposes.

4)

Outsourcing tasks within the necessary scope for contract performance.

5)

Managing application acceptance, administrative procedures, and communication with customers for seminars and events.

6)

Operating and overseeing other tasks related to or incidental to the above.

3. Disclosing Personal Data to Third Parties

Exceptionally, NC may provide personal data to third parties without the consent of the customer in the following instances:

1)

When required by law.

2)

When necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person, and it is difficult to obtain the data subject's consent.

3)

When it is particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the promotion of sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the data subject's consent.

4)

When it is necessary to cooperate with national agencies or local public organizations in carrying out matters prescribed by laws, and obtaining the data subject's consent may hinder the implementation of those matters.

4. Outsourcing of Personal Data Handling

When outsourcing the handling of personal data or providing personal data to an external party due to business outsourcing, NC will establish selection criteria for the contractor, verify the contractor's information management system in advance, and conduct necessary and appropriate supervision over the contractor.

5. Joint Use with Partner Companies

(NC does not engage in joint use for specific personal information.)
NC will jointly use the personal data and other customer personal information related to inquiries, document requests, free trial applications, etc., provided through the internet or other electronic methods, telephone, chat, etc. in the Service, for the scope of use listed in "2. Use of Personal Information", between the following partner companies and NC:

6. Overview of Security Measures for Personal Data

NC takes the following security measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal data, individual numbers, and specific personal information, as well as ensuring the accuracy and up-to-date nature of the information within the necessary scope according to its use.

Establishment of basic policies and maintenance of guideline regarding the handling of personal data

NC establishes and properly implements internal rules and guidelines related to personal information protection.

Organizational security measures

NC develops and implements regulations related to security management and conducts inspections and audits of the implementation.

3)

Human security measures

NC carries out education and training for NC’s employees and contractors and supervises them to ensure the safety of personal data.

4)

Physical security measures

NC takes appropriate measures, such as managing the entry and exit of personnel, to prevent leakage of personal information.

5)

Technical security measures

NC implements technical measures, such as access control to personal data and information systems handling such data, and monitoring of information systems.

NC may collect certain information using cookies and similar technologies for the purpose of analyzing customer usage on NC’s website. In this process,

For inquiries regarding requests for notification, disclosure, correction, and suspension of use of personal data, individual numbers, and specific personal information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, please contact NC via "9. Inquiries about Handling of Personal Information".
NC will confirm that the requester is the data subject themselves and ask them to fill out NC’s designated form. The response will be later provided in writing as a general rule. A handling fee will be charged for requests for notifications of purpose of use and disclosure, etc.
